If you ever will visit any place anywhere without needing instructions on how to find boiling nightlife, then it is Ibiza. The main gay bars are in the Calle de La Virgen, down by the harbour and the terraces of Calle Alfonso XII, next to the main entrance of Dalt Villa. The best will be to follow the mass of tourists passing through the streets, and automatically you will be pushed to a local that is "En Vogue" in this very moment. Around the port there are many teraces and restaurants, and small stands where they sell souvenirs until late night. Here people will start the night with a drink or two, three. This is the place to meet and get your discount arm wrist band for one of the clubs, provided by the colourful parades of the main parties that night. Or you're even luckier, and one of the staff members will put you on the exclusive guest list... Around 2 am, most of the guys go off to one of the parties or to the only gay club in Ibiza Town, Anfora, up at Dalt Villa.
IBIZA GAY BARS
Bar Angelos is a mainstay of the Ibiza gay bar scene, and is visited by most gay holidaymakers to Ibiza. One of the island's most popular bars, guys flock here to the two terraces to cast an eye on passers by. Angelo has a large, air-conditioned interior, and in in July and August electric fans provide some welcome relief from the heat and humidity. From the terrace of this bar, located in Calle de la Virgen - a street near Ibiza's harbour dedicated almost exclusively to gays - , you can often see the spectacle of a long parade of drag-queens passing by. Like almost all the bars in this area, the rainbow flag, symbol of the gay movement, hangs above the door; this will help you to distinguish between bars. However, this isn't a real problem, as heterosexuals are welcome in this area as well. It is a little expensive, though. They are only open in the summer.
